On the surface, Marissa Cortez Wilson (Jessica Alba) has it all...married to a famous spy hunting television reporter, a new baby and intelligent twin step kids. A Kashmiri Indian belle by the name of Reshma is asked by Indian anti-terrorists police officer, Arun, to spy on Pakistani spies. She agrees to spy for them. Through her, the Indian government is able to thwart a plot, resulting in the death of Pakistani terrorist Issak Khan. Due to this, Arun and Reshma first become friends, then fall in love, and hope to get married. On the day of their engagement, a big bomb explodes, disrupting the ceremony. Reshma is badly injured, and is looked after in Canada by a kind woman named Shaheen. Reshma is all set to recuperate and start a new life, when she comes across Arun, who is also in Canada to search for a funder who is financing terrorism in India. She is shocked to find out that Arun is now getting married to Shaheen, and feels that he may be using young woman around the world to get further promotions in his job as an Indian policeman.

Arun Khanna is a spy for the Indian government whose aid is enlisted to stop ISI Chief Ishak Khan. Khan is trying to build a nuclear bomb with which he can liberate Kashmir from the Indians. A battle of wits ensues. When Khan detonates a bomb at Khanna's engagement party to a fellow spy, Khanna's resolve is only strengthened. Now not only does he have to fight Khan, but he also has to track down his missing fiancee.

Baadshah Khan falls in love with Benazir, a member of a rival clan who has defeated him in a game of buzkashi. Benazir will not marry him unless he brings back the head of her father's killer, Habibullah, from India. He is successful, but he must return to India. He is then tragically separated from Benazir through a series of incidents that are only resolved years later with the arrival of his daughter, Menhdi, and his release from prison.

During a competition with a neighboring tribe in Afghanistan, Badshah Khan (Amitabh Bachchan) falls in love with Benazir (Sridevi), and will do anything to marry her. He does so, and they get married. Benazir's dad is killed by Habibulla, and Badshah goes to seek him in India from a jail. He does so but has the jailer, Ranveer Sethi (Vikram Gokhale) on his trail. After avenging his father-in-law' death, Badshah surrenders himself to Ranveer and is jailed for five years. In order to avenge Habibulla's death, his brother Pasha (Kiran Kumar) kidnaps the daughter of jailer Ranveer in return for Badshah. Badshah finds out about this, and escapes from jail, confronts Pasha, only to have Inspector Aziz Mirza (Bharat Kapoor) kill Ranveer, and with Ranveer's daughter as a pawn in Pasha's hands, Badshah admits to killing Ranveer and is sentenced to 50 years in jail. On coming out of prison, Badshah meets with his now grown daughter, Mehndi (also Sridevi); the daughter of Ranveer, Henna Sethi (Shilpa Shirodkar); and the son of Inspector Aziz Mirza, Raja (Nagarjuna), who has found out that it was Badshah who had killed his dad, and is out for vengeance. On the other hand, old rivalries are renewed, when Badshah comes to know that Benazir and his childhood friend Khuda Baksh (Danny Denzongpa) have been abducted by Pasha, and Pasha wants blood and vengence, and he will not let anyone come in his way this time

A lion prince, Simba, is born in Africa and the animals of the Pride Lands pay tribute. Later Simba is told by his father, King Mufasa, that when Mufasa dies, Simba will become King of the Pride Lands. Simba's Uncle Scar would have been king after Musafa had Mufasa not had a child. Fuelled by rage, Scar plots to kill Mufasa and Simba so he is able to take over the throne. He uses the hyenas to cause a stampede through the canyon where Mufasa and Simba are, and personally ensures Mufasa falls to his death. Simba survives so Scar implies that the stampede was Simba's fault and that the pride will blame him. Simba flees the Pride Lands meaning never to return home. Simba is found, collapsed with exhaustion, by Timone the Meerkat, and Pummba the Warthog, and the trio become fast friends. Simba stays with them well into adulthood until his childhood friend, Nala, hunting beyond the Pride Lands that herds had deserted under Scar's mismanagement stumbles upon Simba's new home. Astonished to find him alive, she begs him to return to the Pride Lands, where Scar has reigned as King for years, and ruined everything. All of the animals will starve if Simba does not return.
